Building energy efficient new construction homes here in Colorado gives us the opportunity to help our customers, as well as the environment. Building energy efficient begins by working with architects and designers to start off with an environmentally responsible design. The process continues by disturbing as little ground as possible during construction, while also maximizing the home’s potential for natural sunlight. We also incorporate various high efficiency products and materials throughout the house, resulting in significant energy savings for the homeowner. In our homes, you will find windows and doors with Low E glass specifically designed to maintain temperature. This decreases the power frequency of the AC units and the high efficiency furnaces. To achieve the tightest seal, we use R-22 blown-in insulation in the exterior walls, with all penetrations sealed with foam. R-38 batts and blown -in insulation are used to insulate all ceilings.
